It is interesting to hear people compare what is going on in the valley with the rest of the world. There really is no comparison. The valley really is it’s own universe. I personally remember being laughed at in the late 90s for not moving out there from Iowa. Many of my friends had made the move and were living large on their potential stock options. Then the bubble burst and things looked different. In the past few months, I have had the opportunity to look at a lot of deals coming through the Plains Angels. The valuations being set by the community of investors and entrepreneurs sometimes seem a little high to me. That is until I see a similar company in the valley raise more money on a valuation five to ten times larger!
There is a short interview with Mark Cuban titled “No Tech Bubble, Except in Silicon Valley“ that is worth a read. Thanks to Christian Renaud for pointing this article out!
